The Call to Ministry

The Divine, Creator, Source, God alone calls a person into ministry.

It is a call received in the heart that all who receive it understand.

One may not know the path or the method, but the soul always knows the call.

The Call To Ministry

The Divine, Creator, Source, God alone calls a person into ministry. It is a call received in the heart that all who receive it understand. One may not know the path or the method, but the soul always knows the call.

It is the human mind that challenges rejects or answers the call to serve Creator and people. It is the spiritual aspect of the individual mind that allows one to remain obedient in answering the call. No one decides to be a minister. They are chosen and “called out.” The individual response to the call to ministry is a lifelong endeavor emphasized by a four (4) fold process:

Ministers are Examples of Divine Presence

It is important for today’s ministers to see, hold and carry themselves at all times, in all situations, under all circumstances, as examples of Divine Presence. Ministerial students learn to embrace the concept; “You may be the only Bible that someone reads today,” so that the snapshot of the Divine that you are will become clearer. It is the work of every minister to pray for guidance and purification of every thought, word spoken and action taken in order to anchor the consciousness of God on earth. The greatest guidance for the growing and development of consciousness of all ministers comes from St. John the Baptist de la Salle:

Touching the hearts of the people is the greatest miracle you can perform, a miracle which God demands of you, for this is the purpose of your work. Like guardian angels, it is your duty to go up to God every day, to learn from Him all that you must teach and then come down to them, accommodating yourself to their level, in order to instruct them.”

In other words, a minister is called to meet people where they are and usher them into a higher place in their consciousness and hearts.

Every minister has five (5) basic responsibilities at the foundation of all ministerial activities:

To build minds, hearts and souls through knowledge of the universal laws revealed in word of God. (Hebrews 5:1)

To nurture minds, hearts, and souls with the “fruits of the Spirit” of God. (2 Timothy 4:2)

To equip minds, hearts and souls for the work of God. (Ephesians 4:11)

To prepare minds, hearts, and souls for the mission and purposes of God. (Joshua 1:2)

To unite minds, hearts and souls with and to the love of God. (John 3:16)
